Biography
Moe’s first taste of combat sports came from watching boxing legends on pay-per-view with his Dad. However, after the rise of promotions like the UFC, Oropeza’s focus switched to MMA. He started his training in Santa Ana, California, and had his first amateur fight within a year. His fighting style evolved as he sought to master multiple disciplines, beginning with Wrestling and Muay Thai before moving on to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at 10th Planet Austin. Now, as part of the Iron Forge Army in Round Rock, Texas, he continues to refine his striking, grappling, and overall fight IQ.
After enduring a year of canceled matchups, Oropeza made his professional debut in February 2022. Competing primarily at Bantamweight, he has fought in organizations such as Fighter’s Rep, Knockout Fight League, Peak Fighting, and Fury Fighting. One of his most notable victories came when he won the Peak Fighting Championship belt on just 10 days’ notice, overcoming a fully prepared opponent despite having to endure a significant weight-cutting during COVID-19. Throughout his career, Moe has also tested himself in Muay Thai and BJJ competitions, always striving to hone his craft.
Outside the cage, Oropeza is a devoted husband, father, and mentor. He finds joy in spending time with his family, cooking, coaching, and attending church in his favorite boots. Giving back to his community is also a priority Oropeza coaches a kids’ wrestling class at 10th Planet Georgetown and volunteers with Mobile Loaves Fishes, a nonprofit where his wife works that provides shelter and support to those in need.
Looking ahead, Moe aims to continue growing not only as a fighter but also as a person, and plans to become an MMA judge when his fight career ends. With unwavering faith and a relentless work ethic, Oropeza is determined to leave a lasting legacy—one built on experience, integrity, and perseverance. But he doesn’t plan on retiring any time soon. For Moe, there are still victories to claim and a greater purpose to fulfill.
