Phil Houston

Originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina, my journey into martial arts began after relocating to Austin, Texas, while serving in the U.S. Air Force. Although I was deeply involved in various sports throughout my youth, I never had the chance to train in martial arts—until I took my first step at the age of 22. Seeking a way to stay active, I enrolled in Taekwondo, unaware that this decision would ignite a lifelong passion for combat sports.

Biography

Over the next five years, I immersed myself in rigorous training, earning my black belt under the esteemed Grand Master Pak. My dedication and competitive drive led me to success in multiple tournaments across Texas, refining my technique and fueling my hunger to evolve as a martial artist. It was during this time that a chance encounter with a professional Muay Thai fighter—introduced to me by a fellow competitor—changed the trajectory of my journey.

Inspired by the intensity and technical precision of Muay Thai, I transitioned into striking arts, dedicating myself to mastering kickboxing and the intricacies of The Art of Eight Limbs." Training and sparring at a high level, I had the privilege of learning alongside elite fighters—many of whom I once admired from afar as a fan of the sport.

Martial Arts has become more than just competition for me; it is a lifelong pursuit of discipline, skill, and self-improvement. As I continue to sharpen my abilities and expand my knowledge, my commitment remains unwavering—not only to my own growth but to the broader world of combat sports.
